- Interview with Chris Coupe www.myspace.com/chriscoupe

Chris Coupe was one of two prinicpal promoters, known as CC / Brickwall, who launched and ran The Manchester Busker.

"There were 14 Manchester Busker shows in total. The first one was 17th April 1988 at The Green Room,Manchester, and the last one was 16th June 1996 at Castlefield Arena, Manchester, the night after the (IRA) bomb went off. The shows were seen at:

  • Green Room Theatre
  • Dream Tent, Granada Studios
  • Castlefield Arena
  • Bury Met Arts Centre
  • Romiley Forum

There were a number of wonderful and very supportvie people people behind the scenes and in the media who made massive contributions to it's success:

  • Damien Brehony (aka Brickwall)
  • Mick Middles
  • Terry Christian
  • Clint Boon
  • Pete Mitchell
  • Mike Sweeney
  • Colin Sinclair
  • Steve Curtis
  • Henry Normal
  • and Damien Maddison for getting me to me to launch the event again in 2007 / 2008.

Special thanks also to:

Fads in music and performance come and go but i'd like to think this event is timeless. I will allways remember all those great acts on the same stage and and every one doing it because they wanted to, it was not about competition amd this inspired me. In his interview Mark Burgess summed it up completely."
