"I was involved in only two Manchester Busker Events. One was at the club now known as Matt and Phreds (can't remember the old name of it!!) and I did a short set that was well received. The other was in the Castlefield Arena and was really lovely to play on such a big stage in the open air-that arena should be used more often - is it still there? - I'm assuming it is!! Both of these were near the end of the busker's run.
Although I wasn't very involved with the busker I really admire Chris because he sees what he does as the art form. He is not a performer trying to get a gig for himself, which means all his heart /soul / and creativity goes into the art of promoting. That is what the industry (if it can be called that) needs, people who are into promoting for promoting art - and it is a total and creative entity in it's own right.
Thank goodness for Chris - guess they broke the mold when they made him!!"
